03

Spinal Manipulative Therapy (SMT) or an “adjustment” is a high-velocity low-amplitude thrust that helps to restore function and increase motion to a joint that has become restricted or “stuck”. SMT also stimulates the nervous system to help reduce pain and relax local muscles. The “popping"  or "cracking" noise often heard during an adjustment is the release of nitrogen gas from the joint capsule.

Soft Tissue Therapy includes a variety of methods used to relax tight muscles e.g massage.

Dry needling is a method used to treat myofascial trigger points or "knots" in a tight muscle. A thin needle is inserted into the tight muscle which increases blood flow and oxygen to the affected muscle.

04

Postural Assessments

Chiropractors routinely assess the posture of patients to identify areas which need improvement. Adjustments, exercises and patient education is often given to help improve and maintain your posture to limit back pain.

05

Exercise Advice

Specific exercises are an effective method to help improve posture and strengthen weakened muscles.

06

Patient Education

Patient education is one of the most important factors when treating a patient. In fact the word doctor originates from the Latin word docere which means to teach. Education helps patients to improve their understanding of their condition and how to prevent future occurrences of pain.
